I spent considerable time one year ago looking for something to work like 
ACT!. What did the trick for me was Phprojekt with the InfoBase plugin. Not 
great, but adequate enough for me to juggle sales contacts.

Kmail. Or Evolution if you simply must have something that looks like OE. We 
also have groupware backends that can totally replace Exchange.
