Well. Here goes..... I use it at home for data storage, jabber server, etc. I use it as my primary desktop at work. I soon will be using it as a firewall/router (gentoo) for a gigabit WAN connection. (Cisco can't keep up for under $100k) We use it on somewhere around 1200 CPUs between several sites to do our data analysis. (beowulf clusters) I use it as a log server for Solaris & Linux boxen. DNS server, DHCP server, etc.
the list goes on. For serious 24x7x365, five 9s kind of stuff, we still use Solaris/Sparc. But for things that are a little more forgiving, we fit linux in where possible.
