I've read that you do that by fogging up your bathroom.  The moisture sucks 
most of the dust out of the air.  Put your drive and some tools in a ziplock 
and turn on the hot shower.  After things fog up, turn the water off and wait 
for most of the moisture to clear.  Then pop your drives and tools out and to 
it.  I got this from sites that put clear windows into old drives, so it's 
not the best of advice and I never got around to trying it myself. 

As you may have noticed, I think Joe's knoppix idea is best.
