I just moved to Denver a couple of months ago. Comcast is our ISP up here, and I can verify that our service is horrible (roommate downloads a lot through bittorrent).
I'll be moving into a new house in the next couple weeks, and there will be no Comcast. There will be no Qwest either. There will be DirectTV, and for internet, Speakeasy (they even have an option where you don't have to have a phone line). Speakeasy runs about the price of business DSL, but in their TOS they specify that nothing will be blocked. You are guaranteed nothing but the bandwidth you purchase. They also give static IP addresses. Last I checked, Speakeasy wasn't available in Louisiana (that was a few years ago though) --mat On 10/19/07, B.
