Speakeasy is available in the New Orleans area in Louisiana, but that's about it. I was actually in VoIP training with Speakeasy in Dallas last week when that story broke, and the Speakeasy managers there were laughing about what Comcast is doing. Speakeasy does not block, filter, or throttle any incoming our outgoing ports on their network. The one thing that they do is to give voice packets priority on their MPLS network, but they have so much bandwidth in their backbone that nobody would even notice. Every account also comes with static IPs, and even shell accounts.
If you have them as a choice, it's definitely worth the extra dollars.
