Will .. it sounds like an interesting and number crunchy project.

I got my first degree (BS fall '89) from the same dept at LSU.   I remember
building boards and writing code so I could automate the control and data
aquisition of a senior experiment. (Zganjar's famous class)     My platform
was a commodore 64.

Back then we didn't have those fancy schamncy number crunching programs . We
didn't need those - we crunched numbers in our head while we walked uphill
in the snow to Dr. Kirk's class.. and we liked it that way ... meh!
