I would love to get an ipad type device but I am going to wait until eink + LCD hybrid technology, like Pixel Qi's displays(http://goo.gl/iufT), mature enough and the device is open than an ipad. Android is a great platform for a tablet/pad/ebook/Everything but the kitchen sink device. I tried the kindle but felt the text and interface were a little bland. The sony reader touch edition was a lot better than kindle but I did not want to spend $200+ for a device that does only one thing.
