I don't have any experience with the GIS systems you're using; I've also
never experienced an issue like that.

>From a troubleshooting standpoint, I would double check the db to ensure
that any keys and sequences were generated properly and with the right
permissions.  If that all looks OK I would debug the queries the GIS
software is sending to the system to see if that will provide any clues as
to why the columns are missing.
