Hi Nagaraj,
Just a small addition to what Ken, and Ganesh mentioned. For the ODBC kind of app server to be useful, you need range indexes, and so-called views that help translate SQL statements into searches on the XML indexes. You can find both drivers, and links to documentation here: http://developer.marklogic.com/products/odbc Kind regards, Geert *Van:* [email protected] [mailto: [email protected]] *Namens *Ken Tune *Verzonden:* woensdag 5 februari 2014 10:43 *Aan:* MarkLogic Developer Discussion *Onderwerp:* Re: [MarkLogic Dev General] XDBC and ODBC servers for the same database Nagaraj You certainly can have more than one application server associated with a content database - indeed you can have any number. Your database configuration should be a function of what you are looking to do with the data - e.g. your search related config ( case sensitive / stemmed ) or indeed anything in the database configuration page, so's adding an application server does not automatically mean you have to change the dataset configuration. For something like ODBC it probably does however, as use of this server type implies you will need range indexes specific to your data, found under database configuration. A good way of thinking about application servers is that they = Protocol ( http / xdbc / webdav / odbc ) + content database + modules database ( code ). Hope this helps Ken Tune *From:* [email protected] [ mailto:[email protected]<[email protected]>] *On Behalf Of *[email protected] *Sent:* 05 February 2014 04:41 *To:* [email protected] *Subject:* [MarkLogic Dev General] XDBC and ODBC servers for the same database *Dell - Internal Use - Confidential * Hi all, I have a question. Can we have both xdbc and odbc app servers listening on the same database? If yes then do we have to make any changes to the database apart from default configuration?
