I have been playing around with a version of Linux that runs under Windows
10. So far I have emacs running and J partially running. The impediment
to having J fully running is that I used Windows to copy the J installation
directories into the Linux directory structure. The two problems with this
are that Linux does not see the new files and folders until I reboot
Windows and the default permissions for the copied items are all "000" so J
starts to start but breaks like this:
: not found
./updateje.sh: 7: cd: can't cd to .
: not found
|file access error
| 0!:0<jpathsep(4!:55(;:'systype fhs isroot userx ids
md'),ids)]system,'/util/boot.ijs'
|[-52] /usr/local/J902/bin/profile.ijs

J is basically working at this point but the usual environment is not fully
loaded:

   +/9896.46 _3903.32
5993.14
   6!:0''
2020 9 2 12 42 13.645
   4!:1]0

   4!:1]3

   18!:1]0

|base|j|z|
+----+-+-+
Does anyone have experience with this kind of a setup and have some tips?
Thanks,
Devon
