On an Ubuntu WSL 1.0 setup, this works fine to install J:
wget
http://www.jsoftware.com/download/j902/install/j902_linux64.tar.gz
tar xvf j902_linux64.tar.gz
cd j902
./updateje.sh
jqt should also be possible but X is a little bit annoying
(or was with WSL 1.0; I don't know how 2.0 is doing).
jhs works fine except that you have to browse to the URL
manually. You can do this with a Windows browser, talking
to jhs in the Linux environment. You'll just need to click
'allow' when prompted by the Windows firewall.
