It's not quite clear what you are doing here, nor what you
specifically mean by "failing".

So, some questions:

(1) What operating system are you using for the "remote" J instance?

(2) How are you starting the "remote" J instance?

(3) How are you connecting to the "remote" J instance?

(4) How should multiple connections be handled?

(Also, have you thought about invalid connections? If you're on the
internet, you should expect problems sooner or later.)
