I detect two apparent assumptions here, which I am
uncomfortable with:

   All readers are expected to use a specific
   session manager to view code?  (As opposed to,
   for example, an email client)

   All comments must be obviously distinguishable
   from textual data?  (And, in conjunction with
   the above: all readers must assume that green
   means "comment".)

Perhaps a better option would be to have the
session manager hide the symbol entirely?
