Yes.

The functor bindings are implicit reordering the evaluation into apparent
right to left:

the syntax rules specify this as a binding for f(x) in those languages that
use this notation (usually; LALR(1) parser rules).

But the underlying order is left to right as modified by the current
syntactic prioritized construct being scansed.
