Not true in general: i: 1j4 _1 _0.5 0 0.5 1 i. always returns integers. i: returns a linear squence of fractions of integers (with true integers as a special case if the imaginary part is zero). Perhaps calling i: 'fractions' (to contrast with i. 'integers') would be a more representative nomenclature? -- Mark D.
