I just visited the Dell website and configured myself a 7400.  I find it a
little suspicious that they do not offer more than 4GB RAM installed as an
option.  Check very carefully that you will be able to use more RAM - in
fact, I recall that there's a problem with using all 4GB under Windows,
never mind more than that.  Perhaps the Linux people can verify that they
can actually access more RAM than this?

Also, at the cost of a second processor (over $500 USD), I would be
reluctant to get more than one unless you absolutely know you have a need
for it and can take advantage of it.  In my experience, multi-core works OK
- at least as well as you can make it work - for multi-processing.  I do use
this capability on occasion but much of the time my second core is idle.
 Getting a second 17'' or 19'' (do they quote them in metric where you are?)
monitor is probably more useful and cheaper.
