Well that all depends on how you look at it.

grid in J6 was nice and in some ways it was actually very good but I never
found it really useful.

Look at demo6 in JHS and there you will find a really useful grid or
actually grids.

I have been playing with them for a while and they are really good or let me
say excellent and that is something I could never say about J6 grid.

Actually the demos that come with JHS are all very very good.

I recommend spending time understanding them and when you do begin to
realize what they are all about then you are well on your way of beginning
to really appreciate JHS.

I am not going to say much about GTK in this message to not cloud up things.

GTK is like a completely different product all together and the experience
you get on learning to interface to JHS does not help you much with the GTK
part which is also very very interesting.

You can sence the GTK part being promising and giving you a lot in the
future but as having helps/labs/demos to help you learn using J7 and GTK
there is a long way to go at the moment I feel.

I am only beginning to scratch at it a little bit is my feeling.
