To elaborate just a tad more on this geography lesson, for those not
from North America.  Washington state is on the Pacific coast of North
America, just south of the Canadian border.  Washington D.C. is on the
Atlantic coast, nestled between the states of Virginia & Maryland.

As for school closings, some schools were closed earlier in the week,
however most, if not all, were open today, with hightened security.
