But I am a retired army officer - field artillery. I know a little bit about the conduct of war.
It's bad enough having to put up with the insipid chatter of network talking heads as they give

That's the most intelligent comment yet in this thread. If one never served in their nation's armed forces, how can they have any expectations of others considering them qualified to voice an opinion on the subject? Oh, I forgot, it's their *right* that they choose to let someone else pay the price for. All the gain with none of the pain. Mule muffins. They want freedom of speech? They need to get in line and do their part, just like the rest of us, otherwise all they have is an uninformed, unqualified opinion that they want to demand others take as a statement of fact. Kind of like a Windows user who has never used Linux, but believes people will take them seriously when they say "Linux sucks". Yeah, right.
