If this keeps up, you will soon have Swedish prices. This is why I got rid of my car (a carless American?!?! What next? I'm also on the thin side. But I do keep up the second language protest.). I bicycle to work. This only works as I live in downtown Stockholm. Although public transportation in and around Stockholm is really pretty good, making a car less than necessary, I can't see living outside of town without one. Oddly, I think Swedish roads are still as crowded as before. Seems no one will give in. In the southeast of England, I am convinced that everyone lives a one hour drive from work. Twice a day, the entire population hits the roads and trades places. Or so it seems. I wonder what fuel prices are doing there. I know that in various places in Europe there have been 'drive slows' where all the trucks effectively bring traffic to a crawl. It is generally a protest against the tax part of the fuel price. And that, of course, has usually been the big part of the price.
