Oil companies have always made decent profits. and with the rise in oil prices the amount not the percentage profit is up. > > And it costs a bunch to drill and explore so I don't begrudge them what they > make. Yes. Most of those complaining don't understand this at all. > > Lets let the govmn't take over the oil companies and then there will be losses > to consider instead of profits. No drilling off our shores in California, and no refineries in our state. And California is certainly not the only one. I'm suffering a little (my wife got a free bus/light rail pass from her company), but not like the less-well-off, or those who have a long commute. $50 a week instead of $20 for transportation costs just means that I have to forgo eating out whenever I damn please. One of the problems we Americans have, is that we have always considered cheap gas and the ability to go anywhere, anytime without more than a negligible cost to be a basic right like the Constitution and Bill of Rights.. Most other places in the world have always kept the cost of fuel artificially high through exorbitant taxes. Now we know how the other half live, and we resent the hell out of it. -- Collins Richey If you fill your heart with regrets of yesterday and the worries of tomorrow, you have no today to be thankful for. _______________________________________________ [email protected] Unsub/Pause/Etc : http://mail.linux-sxs.org/mailman/listinfo/general
