There has been no discussion on that. It might be something to ask Samsung to include in the base Tizen distribution, but so far I don't have any news for you in that area. > The theme of this conference is the "Internet of Things". There's no contradiction if you consider the NUC comes with no software, at all. Not even Tizen. It comes with an empty eMMC. In that state, it doesn't talk to anything. We're giving it away, among other reasons, in hopes of getting more people to participate in the Tizen platform development, which is why we talk about installing Tizen Common in it. We're getting to Tizen 3.0 alpha only just now. As such, Tizen Common 3.0 is not near completion and there's still a lot of time to make devices of different types talk to each other. > Off-topic but if the Intel NUC is not able to run Tizen native > "Samsung/OSP" apps, that's another contradiction. > Samsung and Intel are great companies but the proof is in the pudding: > let's see if Tizen Common goes beyond your short-term interests. Again a misconception. The NUC is able to run any software you compile for it. That includes compiling OSP for it. Tizen Common does not today include OSP for one simple reason: it's not common to all profiles. Therefore, you're going to find it only in that profile (or those profiles) that require it. Currently, that's Tizen Mobile. So, if you compile Tizen Mobile for Atom, you'll be able to run OSP applications on the NUC. -- Thiago Macieira - thiago.macieira (AT) intel.com Software Architect - Intel Open Source Technology Center _______________________________________________ General mailing list [email protected] https://lists.tizen.org/listinfo/general
