    multiple: 5

As for turning off the time labels completely, that's not supported. 
Could you describe the scenario in which you want that?

You can "sync" the bands. This is done in all of the examples so you can 
take a look at the examples' HTML code using your browser's View Source 
command to see how it's done.

The timeline never ends but scrolls on forever... So I'm not sure what

It should be able to display Unicode text properly. You need to set your 
text editor to save your file in UTF-8 encoding.
