Today when I started Genesis, it instantly refused to work with the 
incomprehensible message:

  "no DSR signal present on modem"

does this mean my modem is kaput? It probably does, because I
attached a borrowed modem and it works fine.

I cannot find what "DSR" might mean or stand for in either the
Genesis manual, the modem manual, or a book called the complete
idiot's guide to TCP/IP. It may of course mean nothing. For example,
"existentialism" means nothing. Then again, maybe someone can tell me
what "DSR" means. Actually, I hardly ever understand any of the posts
to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
