Hi Folks. I was using the downloaded list of UCSC genes. In the list there are two entries for ROCK1:
18 99064 112222 ROCK1 "Rho-associated, coiled-coil containing protein" 18 16783700 16945810 ROCK1 "Rho-associated, coiled-coil containing protein" If I blat the ROCK1 mrna sequence from entrezGene, I get a full hit to the q-arm ROCK1, and a partial hit to the p-arm. I am wondering if you could shed some light on why both these locations have the same Rock1 gene name? Perhaps one should be a pseudogene? thanks a bunch for your help, RIchard _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] http://www.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome
