The table chr2_positive_strand needs to be in the hg18 database.
If the table browser does not display it, it isn't in the hg18 database.

The entry you displayed in the hg18.trackDb table will allow the
genome browser to use that table chr2_positive_strand.

Enter a URL with the additional variable: chr2_positive_strand=full
to see if the browser will turn on this track.  Watch your
Apache error logs to see if there is an error.
