Hi Peng,

The UCSC Genes track on mm9 is fairly old (last updated in September of
2007), and we are actively working on an updated
version of the mm9 UCSC Genes track, which can be previewed here:
http://genome-preview.ucsc.edu/

On the preview browser, if you open UCSC Genes (which will be the new
version of the track) and go to the location of Mpg, you'll see that the
negative strand transcript that was previously labeled as Mpg, is now
being labeled as Nprl3, which is consistent with RefSeq. One of its
alternate names listed is Mare. This updated version of the UCSC Genes
track on mm9 should have many improvements of this kind.

Please contact the mail list ([email protected]) again if you have any
further questions.
