That small little dot at the end of your path... could you just try
without it, to be sure?

Is there anything non-standard installed on your system at the moment?
I want to know how you bootstrap, so I can try to get the same problem
and fix this...  You followed the exact order of the webpage right?
What happens if you bootstrap sed in
/Users/kurthindenburg/Library/Gentoo/tmp?
