My powermac is 1.33Mhz with 768MB RAM. I have had fink & darwinports on it but didn't care much for how they worked. In my experiance the port system was better but just barely. So I really want to see what gentoo's package management for OS X would be like.

I did update the docs last night, but the website still isn't updated
:(.  I suspect there is an error there, so need to poke some people
about that.  I detected some problems with the tree as well, so before
you start, you better have an updated tree snapshot available.  On my
Panther system I'm now around half of a system emerge.  Stay tuned!

How fast is the machine you will be using it on?  My 800MHz G3 isn't
much of a speed dragon, so it takes a while before it has compiled a
package (and 28 to go)...
