I agree with Donnie. Level 1 support in the forums really takes a lot of work off our shoulders. We've to keep a delicate balance between having every problem submitted as a bug in Bugzilla and having people in forums shouting against developers that won't solve their problem which appears only there. Hopefully, there are just enough informed people in the forums so that someone finally says "you should submit a bug in Bugzilla" and "this is bug #99999 in Bugzilla". I don't follow the forums closely enough those days to see what the trends are at this moment. If we fall too much on the "lazy developers, why don't you answer me" syndrome, maybe it's time to inject a few "if you think it's a bug, filing it in Bugzilla is the only real way to get Gentoo devs attention" posts. -- Koon -- [email protected] mailing list
