Eh, I gave the sensible arguments earlier on. Since this thread has
degenerated into a rhetoric competition, I thought I'd liven things up a
bit. I mean, Stuart's lengthy post extolling the virtues of USE flags is
all very well, but there's a time and a place, and such a good argument
should be saved for when Foser's trying to abolish a sensible USE flag.

Heck, go with a local USE flag if you really think that one measly
little symlink is too much for our users to cope with. But don't clutter
up the globals list with something which is only applicable to a small
group of packages in the same category and which has a tiny effect.
