A rather radical idea would be to have a selection process for foundation
members much like the one for devs. I am reffering to the mentorships and
probation periods as well as the "If you are usefull, we will notice and
recruit you."-principle.

In situations ike this it s easy to fall into a trap. And that trap is that
foundation membership becomes som sort of fraternity for older devs who look
out for each other. Just having been around a long time might not
necessarily motivate foundation membership in the same way that lng time
usage of Gentoo does not warrant dev status.

This is a rather radical idea, but it is something I have learned the hard
way through many years of working and leading various foundationsm and other
volunteer-based projects. Even if you are volunteers, behave and treat each
other as professionals.
