Are the nameservers listed in /etc/resolv.conf recursive resolvers?
Since name resolution works when using your own local nameserver it
sounds like the remote ones may be misbehaving.

yes, for example, i tried these two:
resolver1.recursivedns.net. 63.208.196.113
resolver2.recursivedns.net. 63.208.196.114
which are definitely recursive DNS-servers; but when i type
host -v www.zufallslink.de 63.208.196.113
i get this "incomplete" answer:
