Thank you both for your input. I'm aware that Godaddy is the 800 pound
gorilla of the market and was particularly interested in what the
alternatives are. As such, I stumbled across this thread at Slashdot:

This led me to gandi.net, which is based in France. I liked what I saw
so I have decided to go with them.
