I'd go check the forums for the new 17" TiBook before I drop that kind of K. I know that Nvidia only supports x86 arch for it's binary drivers. So for very new Nvidia cards.. it might even take a while for framebuffer support, very crummy. You are better off in Linux with the previous version ATI powerbooks.
