[ a big ditto to Mitch's magnum opus ] I've seldom found anyone who isn't hooked on gentoo once they give it a try, with one exception. One particular user (somewhat knowledgable, but extremely opinionated) on another group curses gentoo and "wouldn't touch it with a fork." This particular "gentleman" considers the LSB to be the be all and end all for linux. Unfortunately, the LSB offers up no standard means for incorporating multiple versions of large packages like Gnome and KDE. While gentoo implements the LSB wherever practical, gentoo has chosen a workable approach for Gnome and KDE rather than slavish adherance to the incomplete LSB. Fortunately, the thousands of contented gentoo users aren't quite so priggish! -- Collins Richey - Denver Area Athlon-XP gentoo 1.4_rc2 kde 3.1 -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
