I use ALSA on another box (offline mp3 box) which uses your soundcard. It works just fine @ this end.
I emerged the following: alsa-oss alsa-utils alsa-driver alsa-xmms And did the following as the instructions stated: rc-update add alsasound boot amixer set Master 100 unmute amixer set PCM 100 unmute I then added the user to /etc/group audio::18:lcandell That *should* work...
