Does anyone know why whenever I want to install *any* of the xine GUIs
(oxine, gxine, xine-ui) it wants to downgrade me as follows?
running emerge -p gxine...
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild N ] media-libs/libfame-0.9.0 [ebuild N ] media-libs/xvid-0.9.1 [ebuild N ] dev-libs/libxml-1.8.17-r2 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/oaf-0.6.10 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/gnome-print-0.35-r3 [ebuild N ] gnome-base/bonobo-1.0.22 [ebuild U ] gnome-base/libglade-0.17-r6 [2.0.1] [ebuild U ] gnome-base/gconf-1.0.8-r5 [2.2.0] [ebuild N ] gnome-base/gnome-common-1.2.4-r3 [ebuild U ] gnome-base/gnome-vfs-1.0.5-r3 [2.2.4] [ebuild U ] gnome-base/control-center-1.4.0.5-r1 [2.2.2] [ebuild U ] gnome-base/gnome-panel-1.4.2-r2 [2.2.2] [ebuild N ] media-sound/xmms-1.2.7-r20 [ebuild N ] media-libs/flac-1.1.0 [ebuild U ] media-libs/xine-lib-1_beta12 [0.9.13-r3] [ebuild N ] media-video/gxine-0.3.3
running emerge -p oxine...
Okay, try this:
open up the xmms ebuild and remove line 23, which says:
gnome? ( <gnome-base/gnome-panel-1.5.0 )
and also remove line 109 that says:
`use_with gnome` \That will stop xmms from needing or trying to enable the gnome 1.4 panel applet. Is there much need for this anymore? I wouldnt think so, last i checked, gentoo stats listed 1 person using gnome 1.4, and gentoo usually goes the way of the majority.
