I forgot to mention. For my computers at home, for non-nfs exporting FS's,
I use reiserfs without problems. My home directory that is exported to 
several other machines is XFS...

However at work I only use XFS as there is a working dump (xfsdump). So if
you care about backups the go with XFS. ext2/ext3 can do dumps on
unmounted filesystems or a dump on a snapshot via LVM or EVMS, but that
can turn into a mess of cron jobs when trying to automate...
