The gs-sources track a "pre" kernel. It's similar to the 2.6 kernel in that it gets frequent updates. It's also a patched/custom kernel and any change to the patches would require a kernel package update. If you want "stable", i.e. not changing weekly or so, do NOT use that kernel package.
