As I suspected. Looking at the list I think that mplayer and plugger seem to be doing pretty much 80-90% the same thing, so it would seem I should choose one or the other like you suggested earlier... > > You can configure what formats plugger with use in the pluggerrc file (I > don't know where Gentoo stores that - maybe /etc/pluggerrc) - you > probably will want to remove any formats that are handled by > other plugins. Cool, but what about which one - mplayer, plugger or gxine - gets called first? So, with 100 million Linux/Mozilla users in the world, we end up with 100 million people editing their files trying to get their machines to work? Isn't there a better answer somewhere? Looking at /etc/pluggerrc it says it's for Plugger 4.0 when I have 5.0 installed. It probably got left behind when I removed plugger 4.0, and then not overwritten when I emerged plugger-5.0? Maybe I need to completely start over with this process. It seems far too messy and breakable. Thanks, Mark -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
