As I suspected. Looking at the list I think that mplayer and plugger seem to
be doing pretty much 80-90% the same thing, so it would seem I should choose
one or the other like you suggested earlier...

Cool, but what about which one - mplayer, plugger or gxine - gets called
first?

So, with 100 million Linux/Mozilla users in the world, we end up with 100
million people editing their files trying to get their machines to work?
Isn't there a better answer somewhere?

Looking at /etc/pluggerrc it says it's for Plugger 4.0 when I have 5.0
installed. It probably got left behind when I removed plugger 4.0, and then
not overwritten when I emerged plugger-5.0?

Maybe I need to completely start over with this process. It seems far too
messy and breakable.
