You can do so easily by using:
emerge -u system | tee <insert output filename here>
I would like to use ssh and putty, to do the installation process, but as I am doing it "by the book" it wasn't an option.
I just started the bootstrap process, so I can't do it right now.
But I'll get back to this thread when it is done, with whatever awfully long error message that command will generate...
If it is tooooooooo long, I will try to mail it to myself from the gentoo machine, then it will be fine reporting it.

I'll get back later, docs says it (the bootstrap process) takes two hours on a 1200 MHz Athlon. This is a PIII 866 Mhz...
