As a human, I want to give something back. As a programmer, I can contribute my free time, improving the distribution. But I feel responsibility on what I provide to users. Distributing non-free takes time to support, it takes space on hard drive, it takes resources, which are so expensive. Resources, which can be utilized to improve or to support free software. But it is not just wasting of time and resources. Distributing (or advertising) non-free warez misleads users of a GNU based OS. So, it contradicts GNU programmers ethics.
