Agreed. And looking at the "big picture"---considering all open source and free software---I'd have to say that it's only getting better. More users, more developers, more support, more exposure, etc, etc. Of course there will be a few gems that get lost, but overall, there's more for everyone. And even if a good project does die, being open source means that there's not all this political cruft attached to it. Anyone can pick up a dead project and bring it back to life.
