I'd still want to know what on your server wants gtk2 and is affected by
that USE flag.. Could you please tell me the output of :
cd /var/db/pkg
grep gtk2 */*/*.ebuild

That should show enough hits for me to track it down. I suspect its
something that illegally depends on gtk2 USE flag when it should have
the "gtk" USE flag.
