|
| Cannot start the preferences application for your window manager
|
| Window manager "unknown" has not registered a configuration tool

| If I go to the theme manager and change the theme, my windows disappear

| If I try to start metacity I get:

| Aborted
|
| Can anybody help me with this one?
|
| I've tried to emerge sawfish as a window manager and get (during compile
| of dependency rep-gtk):
|
| libtool: compile: unable to infer tagged configuration
| libtool: compile: specify a tag with `--tag'
| make: *** [rep-types.lo] Error 1

|
| !!! ERROR: x11-libs/rep-gtk-0.18 failed.
| !!! Function src_compile, Line 47, Exitcode 2
| !!! (no error message)
| !!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status
| message.
|
| Also - the default gnome installation complains that xscreensaver is
| missing on startup - easily fixed by emerging this package. It should
| obviously be a dependency of gnome.
|
| Think I'll stick to kde for the moment.

Try XFCE4. Nice, lightweight, fast, no bloat, nice and...well, nice (I
guess I already said that before ;).
