That's important to hear, but it can't be a show-stopper, as the 3 other Linux distro's I've mentioned have no problem. I tried compiling AHCI as [M], which is what Mandriva + Ubuntu do, but it makes no difference. There must be some other setting their kernels use to identify the drive, which mine doesn't have set. Can anyone suggest what other settings to try ? I've looked at their kernel .config files, but nothing jumps out.
