My take on Dales question - how do we tell the hooks are in use? - config file somewhere, utility we can run? - or should they be marked executable?
It looks to me like various apps are installing to that directory as well and are in use ... maybe? I presume its only those 3 scripts that are affected but it would be nice to have enough to detail to know there is a problem or not that needs investigating. rattus ~ # ls -al /lib/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-hooks total 44 drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 224 Aug 30 16:25 . drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 62 Aug 30 16:25 .. -r--r--r-- 1 root root 276 Aug 30 16:25 01-test -r--r--r-- 1 root root 120 Aug 30 16:25 02-dump -r--r--r-- 1 root root 957 Aug 30 16:25 10-mtu -r--r--r-- 1 root root 2866 Aug 30 16:25 10-wpa_supplicant -r--r--r-- 1 root root 885 Aug 30 16:25 15-timezone -r--r--r-- 1 root root 5450 Aug 30 16:25 20-resolv.conf -r--r--r-- 1 root root 811 Aug 30 16:25 29-lookup-hostname -r--r--r-- 1 root root 3450 Aug 30 16:25 30-hostname -r--r--r-- 1 root root 2848 Aug 30 16:25 50-ntp.conf -r--r--r-- 1 root root 1155 Aug 30 16:25 50-yp.conf rattus ~ # A bit of experimentation will find out - but it will have to wait for now.
