I follow the double space rule when writing, and I find it helpful when text I'm reading (in fixed-size font - which is of course how I read email) is written that way. I didn't know it was "secretarial" - that's definitely a major drawback! ;-) -- Please don't Cc: me privately on mailing lists and Usenet, if you also post the followup to the list or newsgroup.
