This may be a long shot. I had this problem with Ubuntu 24.04 last year.
I don't remember where I found this but I had to open VLC media player,
goto tools/preference, goto Audio tab and select output module as
Pipewire audio output instead of Automatic.
I don't know why VLC was affecting Firefox but it did and sound worked
fine afterwards.
